Single Father Injured Due to a Drunk Driver.
A 26-year-old single father of a toddler son was seriously injured in a car crash in Delaware County, Pennsylvania caused by a drunk driver and Lou Turk’s, the popular gentlemen’s club that over-served her alcohol. Our client was a railroad worker working full-time. He was on the job at the time, as he was being transported in a van from one rail yard to another. As a result of the collision, he suffered a concussion, partial tear of his rotator cuff, and injuries to his neck and back. Our client made an impressive recovery and ultimately returned to gainful employment with the City of Philadelphia Streets Department.
The drunk driver was an exotic dancer who caused the accident after she had just left her shift at Lou Turk’s. During her three-hour shift, her Lou Turk’s co-workers served her at least half-a-dozen alcoholic drinks. She was just a few minutes down the road from Lou Turk’s when she ran a red light and struck the vehicle carrying our client. After the crash, her blood alcohol level was tested to be approximately 0.207%, which is approximately two-and-a-half times the legal limit for driving. Despite this high level of intoxication, Lou Turk’s bartenders continued to over-serve alcohol to their co-worker while she was on the job dancing. Before trial, we were able to obtain a settlement for our client against the bar and the drunk driver.
